Former GP racer Katsuaki Fujiwara joined the Alstare Suzuki Gsxr team for the '99 season in World Superbike.
The team was new, and Fujiwara was returning from injuries suffered the year before in an off-season GP test; he finished ninth in the standings in 1999 and 2000.
