The 988 cc engine

The Suzuki Gsxr 1000 engine was a marvel of modern engineering.
Amazingly light, compact, and durable, it reset the standards for the class.
What's more, it achieved all of this without the technological gimmicks other manufacturers had followed (often into dead ends).
Rather, the 988 cc engine was extremely well developed-in part on the dyno at Ryuyo and in part on the racetrack, through experience with AMA and World Superbike racing.
