The Suzuki Gsxr's racing debut came at Le Mans in 1985.
Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) teammates Herve Moineau and Richard Hubin placed second - despite a crash for Moineau in the morning warm-up - and privateers Guy Bertin, Phillipe Gouchon, and Bernard Millet were first.
Placing first and second in the motorcycle's maiden race was an auspicious debut indeed.
